Enough with the vertigo already.. Neuro appt next week isn't coming fast enough

Since Thursday night everything around me has been spinning.. if I keep my head perfectly still I feel ok, but if I move it at all.. BOOM everything is spinning and I lose my balance.

So brutal. I am still currently still in limbo land. . but I have a Neurologist appt on Tuesday of next week (in 3 days!). I am PRAYING she will have some answers for me

Its really hard to do a job properly when your walking around like your drunk!

Try taking some Antivert OTC also some dramamine OTC until you see your neuro.

    Good luck.

constant vertigo would be tough...I hope your dr appt on Tuesday will help with your sx and also give you answers to what is going on.

I'm in limbo also...it is so frustrating. what do you tell people?? 'yeah, I have these crazy sx' ; 'yeah, I went to the dr and they don't know what is wrong'...then they look at you like you are insane..lol

hang in there...i guess this is more of a marathon instead of a sprint!

Vertigo has finally subsided.. for now

Well.. the Vertigo finally subsided. .on and off for two days.. not cool.
And Sara, I have only told my husband and my mom about my symptoms. People at work asked me if I was feeling ok, and I just said yah just feeling a bit dizzy.. they were fine with that explanation! I am not going to say anything to anyone until I have my dx. Everyone in my family thinks all my sx are to do with stress.. so, since no one believes me, I will wait until I have something concrete to show them.

Off all my sx, I find the vertigo and the tingling sensations to be the most debilitating..

Two days until my MS Specialist appt!! The countdown is on, really hoping to get some answers

        Tuesday isn't coming fast enough.

          Hi,

I've never had the full out vertigo...just constantly light headed and dizzy..but the room doesn't spin...I feel like I'm "on" something. It has happened twice in a year for a 2month duration. Not only do you feel like crap..but soooo exhausted from our bodies trying to adjust to the balance issues.

I'm still in limbo..but my neuro exam was a little worse last time(changes in reflexes)..so after my tiny lesions in brain have not changed in a year, I'm going for another MRI of the spine...gonna c my neuro on Tues.

Have you ever tried the Epley"s Maneuver..that's what they tried with me first to see if it helped...didn't work for me..but has for others.

          Hang in there!

              Been there, it's rough

I've had vertigo on and off for years. Over the last year, it's been there more often than not. It's very difficult for people who have never had it to realize it's more than being dizzy. I've had to tell people at work (clients) that it's vertigo because if I didn't, they probably assume I'm drunk. My co-workers know I don't drink alcohol, so it's cool. They just don't seem to realize how crummy it makes me feel. It's not just a little "lightheaded" feeling.

Andie31...wanted to wish you luck on your appt tomorrow!

I'm in the same boat...not telling anyone until I have a dx from a dr. I don't even really tell my husband many of my sx...he just doesnt deal with it well. When the neuro suggested I get a mri, my husband told me I shouldn't do it b/c I don't have ms and the dr was just trying to get $$ out of us...lol So I try to refer to it as a 'nerve' problem instead of saying ms...I think that is easier for him to handle.

Once you get you dx, I think, then you can get started on treatment and moving on with life. Let us know how your appt goes

Neuro Appt done.. no better off.

Well.. I saw the Neurologist on Tuesday, she couldn't find anything abnormal on the physical exam.

She did however send me for a TON of blood work, I have been soo tired since having all the blood work done.

She said she still needs to see the MRI (which isn't until April 6th) to rule out MS. So I am still in limbo land.. which sucks.

Sara- thanks for thinking of me I will keep everyone posted over the coming weeks..

I noticed on the blood requisition form that 90% of the blood work being performed is testing for Lupus.

Everyone get's thrown off by the positive ANA result. ENA panel was ordered so hopefully that can be ruled out soon.

                  Talk soon.

                    Vertigo

As a member of the "limbo land" gang, I'd like to say that the "swimming" sensation in my head is very distressing. I'm not a regular drinker, but I do liken the sensation to feeling "tipsy". The feeling seemed to be under control with Lexapro (given to me by RNP because I was "obviously" depressed) which was totally unexpected but greatly appreciated. Has anyone had similar experiences?
