Getting worse after steroids

My friend with MS had IV steroids three weeks ago and just finished tapering off with prednisone a week ago. The only improvement she felt was that her ON started to resolve itself. Now she is feeling much more numbness in her arm and leg. Could this be the steroid effect wearing off, or is it possibly a new relapse or a worsening of the current attack?

If this is a new symptom, have her call her neuro. If it is not new, you may want to wait it out until all the taper is done.
