    glycominds blood test????

I have had multiple mri's showing brain lesions in the past -never getting a diagnosis- but having symptoms for last 20 years!!!
finally had this glycomine blood test and neuro spec. at USC says positive for MS and I need to start treatment!!!!!
has anyone heard of this test? I'm just shocked.........having trouble believing it's real- because I have been told for so long and by so many docs that I am probably just very depressed- my symptoms have been burning pain, fatigue, numbness on and off, and hell yea..... depression

    Glycominds

I had never heard of the test you mentioned so I looked it up on the Internet. You might want to take a look at the website for the Glycominds company. They seem to be producing a test for an MS biomarker. If it is indeed legitimate and accepted by the medical community then it might cut down on the number of limbolanders. Good luck.

You have seen a specialist at USC. It seems to me that you should go for a second opinion with a neurologist that specializes in MS.
You had a 'new' test and the doctor gave you a positive dx. Well here's a thought. Did you get a vitamin D test? What about vitamin B-12 ? These aren't new or special. But you should know these levels as well as you know your name.
      Good luck

The Glycominds blood test has been around for awhile, although it is not widely used. To the best of my knowledge this test is still being "tested" to determine how reliable, if at all, it is to predict a diagnosis of MS.

If you are meeting the criteria for MS (McDonald Criteria) I'm not sure why this test was even used.
