    not sure what to think

ON aug. 15th i started to get this tingling/burning sensation. it was all over my body. this was the first time i remember this ever happening. i have had tightness in my neck and face at times, the ENT saw inflammation and ordered prilosec. my doc, still sent me to a neuro for further testing. the neuro did his reflex test and everything was normal but he said for my peace of mind lets do a brain and c-spine MRI with and without MS contrast.

So he went over the results with me today. he prefaced before the MRI that 7 out of 10 patients never have a clean MRI, so when we talke today. he said there were 2 in the brain scan but there was one in the c-spine scan that was unusual, so he has referred me to his collegues that specialize in MS. i am wondering if a lesion on a c-spine scan has to be MS. i know i have some of the symptoms but i am terrified. any help is much appreciated.

C-spine lesions are common in MS. With the three lesions you mention, you could have enough for a diagnosis if the lesions are of a certain shape (ovoid) and are in places that MS lesions tend to be.

No matter the cause, these are probably responsible for your symptoms.

Your MS specialist will help you with this explanation. It is good that you are seeing one. For now your doctor is doing the right thing in being cautious and sending you to the right person.

You want to be sure before you start this journey of being labeled with MS, or worse yet starting a DMD.

Hopefully you will feel better soon either way.
