My PCP has been working on finding a MS Specialist....they sent all of my records, paperwork, etc to one place to only find out that they don't accept my insurance....they call all over the St. Louis area and no one accept it.....supposively they have found a place in Springfield IL that will take my insurance (Illinois Medical Card)....but still don't have an appt yet...unfortunately it's also 1 hour and 30 minutes from where I live..it's frustrating because it's been a week and half since I was given my MRI results over the phone by a medical assistant at my PCP.....I had multiple lesions in 4 areas of my brain that are concerning for MS including the corpus callosum, right and left periventricular white matter, and in the subcortical white matter.
I also understand that it could take a month or two for me to even get in to see the neuro so I just feel like time is just wasting away
I am wondering do they do all of the other testing in one day or do you have to go multiple days to complete all of the testing? Just curious since I am 1.5 hours away. I just really hope they take my insurance otherwise I have no clue what I am going to do So frustrating!!
