    SPMS & Continuing Care Communities

In a few years, when I turn age 60, I was planning on selling my home to pay for assisted living at a continuing care community. However, I had no idea how expensive long term care is today.

Can anyone share some tips and information with me on how to transition. Does medicaid assist? I'm so lost and confused. Thanks.

    Hi dm0329!

Medicaid eligibility varies from state to state.

In Ohio, Medicaid may help if a person meets certain requirements, and the Assisted Living apartments accept Medicaid waivers (not all of them do).

Your monthly income and other monies cannot exceed a certain amount in order to be eligible.

You'll need to check Medicaid eligibility for your state regarding Assisted Living.
