It's not as hot here as elsewhere, but even 76 degrees is too much for me. We don't have the luxury of AC either as we generally don't need it.
I started to go out to my garden to pick more strawberries today, riding my 4 wheeled scooter and came across a HUGE pile of fresh bear poop. It scared me as it was close to my house. l put the scooter on "rabbit" speed, continually tooted the horn, and went back inside!
Oh well, it was too hot for me anyway!

While watering the garden at 7:45 this morning it was already too hot for me! Every year it seems I do a little worse in the heat and this year is no exception. I have to go out in the heat of the day this afternoon for a quick job site inspection. I will have plenty of cold water and will stay out in the heat as little as possible before getting back into the AC. Long hot summer, here we go!

Love you too, Marti ! Yesterday was terrible for me. I had an appointment with a cardiologist across town. It was 88 degrees and humid. I was stressed about the appointment and to top it off I had my second Pfizer shot the day before and was feeling exhausted when I got up. After the appointment I had to walk to the metro stop and there was no shade. My legs didn't want to behave and I was very light headed and wobbly. I tried to buy a bottle of water at the station and the machine took the last of my change and didn't give me the water. Wow! I haven't had that bad a day in a long long time and I haven't felt that bad in a long time either. All is well now but I still feel bad that as soon as our Covid restrictions were lifted and I am vaccinated, I will probably have to stay inside this summer.

The heat is brutal right now with heat indices approaching 110. I try to schedule as much as possible early in the morning. I take the dog out for longer periods before 10 am and then again after 8 pm. Between the two sun exposure is limited to 10 minute intervals.
I do have a cooling vest, but I don't break it out for short exposures. I do have an ice hat that I wear above 95 degrees. That seems to help me the most.
Stay hydrated! Stay safe..
I wish you well...

Maybe it's my age, but this year the heat is a real problem for me. I've had problems with it in years past, but not like this year. I can go outside for just a few minutes and I'm feeling it... almost getting sick. And it hasn't gotten above 90 here yet. I can feel every part of me wilting right away. So for a year, we stayed inside all year to avoid Covid. Now when things are somewhat better we're confined because of the sun and heat. UGH! No winning is there?Tags: None
