    Hoarseness Help!!

I do customer service,so I speak all day. Lately, I have been getting hoarse and loosing my ability to speak loudly. It feels like I have to literally force myself to speak in a normal tone. This is new for me, and it scares me. I have had problems for years with finding words, or slurring words, but never this. Does this go away? Do any of you have this issue, and if so what do you do to help alleviate the symptoms? Is anyone taking medicine for it- alternative or otherwise. I feel as if I may have to quit working if this continues.

    Hi leborjo

I have a weak voice and it gets hoarse if I talk for a long time. Also, I get out of breath at times while talking. But I don't speak professionally, so I can deal with it ok.

Here is some helpful info from the National MS Society:

The good news is that most speech and swallowing problems can be managed. A speech/language pathologist (SLP) is the specialist who can best diagnose and treat them.
