Name of a good Tennessee MS Speciliast?

Can anyone share their recommendation for a good MS Specialist in Tennessee, and why? I don't mind driving if it's for a reputable, good and thorough specialist. I respect the opinions posted here and thank you in advance!

Depending on where you are in TN if you don't mind the drive I would cross over into NC and come to Duke. If your in western TN that would be about 4 hour drive, if in Eastern TN then probably not in the cards.

If you think you could make the drive Dr. Skeen is fabulous but booked months in advance. I started seeing Dr. Eckstein this year, instead because he is much more available and I have been impressed with him. If you prefer female doc's Dr. Hawes is super nice.

      Hi dck!

Getting someone's recommendation is always beneficial, but if you don't receive many posts here, another place to look is http://www.nationalmssociety.org/Tre...ers-in-MS-Care

Put in your zip code, state, driving distance and the provider type.
Hope more members here can help you and good luck!

        Hi dck:

The Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers also has a search feature: http://www.mscare.org/search/custom.asp?id=881. From the drop-down lists, select United States and Tennessee.

And don't forget to also check other MS forums for recommendations.

Insurance companies are licensed to do business -- and serve customers/members who reside -- within boundaries of individual states. Your medical plan may cover you only for services received within Tennessee. That's important to check out before receiving medical services out of state (which is out of network) and then finding out that you're personally responsible for the entire (uncovered) bill.

Good luck! I hope you find a really good neurologist.
