Olfactory Hallucination

A strong unpleasant smell of coffee woke me up at 3 a.m. It lasted about an hour. It was really weird. Have you had this type of event happen to you?

I get the one about marijuana smoke every once in a while and will hunt the house down for it only not to find any. Its weird. People with allergies get olfactory hallucinations too.

Best of luck, you can let your neuro know, he will probably just shake his head yes.

I smell cigarette smoke and something burning on occasion and I woke up about 2:00 AM once smelling something baking like a cake.

Yes me too

I would have this every night many years ago. Then I realized I had an incredible sense of smell, I could smell the neighbor next townhouse over getting ready for night shift, just the coffee. Nothing else.

I sometimes get the smell of stale cigarette's. It is so gross!!

A year or so before I was dx'd, I had an episode where I smelled buttered toast. I was out for a walk and not a house nearby. Thought it was really strange at the time. Every now and then I smell something that seems out of place. If I don't find the source, I chalk it up to ms.

...they must smoke some pretty harsh stuff in your neck of the woods.
