How do I find out what type of MS I have?

When my neurologist diagnosed me, she never said what type of MS I have. I think I have primary progressive, as my gait changed pretty fast in the beginning as with the tinglys in my feet, and has stayed the same for the past two years with some days worse than others, but always with me.

Any advice on how to get a more specific ms dx?
    Thanks,
    Chris

The best course of action would be to call your neurologist also your medication regiment can give you some insight. I am using copaxone which is primarily for RRMS.

If they've given you a dmd to take, then you'll most likely be RRMS. The remission part just means there's no active inflammation for a time.

It doesn't mean alas, that all the old damage heals and you go back to the way you were. For some people it does, for most people, there will be residual damage.

I was RR for a good 14 years, and my numb tingly fingers never went away. I have progressed, which is only normal. They are very reluctant to label you SPMS, but I think that's been me for the last three years.
      Good luck.
