Looking for a new Neuro North of Chicago

I recently moved north of Chicago and would appreciate if anyone can recommend a good neuro.

I know there is a sticky thread with lists of docs however, a personal recommendation is always good in my book.

    Thanks!

    just north of Chicago

I lived in River North for about 3 years and saw Dr. Daniel Wynn who practiced just north of the city limits, Northbrook maybe? (can't find the address of the practice) Was a pretty straight shot of a drive. I really liked working with him. Good luck.

      Thanks for the reply.

I actually met Dr. Wynn a few weeks back at an MS support group meeting that I attended. Yes, he is in Northbrook.

He was very up to date on the latest research, having just come back from ECTRIMS, and shared lots of good info with the group. Very personable as well. He did have his drug of choice. I guess what bothered me was that the drug rep from that company was in attendance.

Nice to hear he was good to work with. Several in the group were patients as well.

Dr. Wynn was my doctor for ten years until I could no longer drive 150 mile round trip for appointments. If I were closer he would still be my neurologist but I live so far away now I had to find someone close by. He is a wonderful doctor and I highly recommend him.

I don't know how far north of Chicago you want to go but I love my doctor who is in Northwest Neurology. They have several offices in the northwest suburbs. He is an MS specialist and is so different from your typical neurologist. Oh, his name is Dr. George Katsamakis.

            Thanks for the replies

Looks like I have a few good options. Another person in the support group gave me the name of Dr. Katsamakis as well.

I am way up North but looks like he would be about 1/2 hr or more south of me.

It is hard when you have to give up a doc you really like isn't it? Have to start from scratch when you move with all docs, grocery stores, bank, etc...
