Fever without any real symptoms?

Anyone have it?

My temp is normally 97 and 97.6 if high. I haven't been below 99.2 in months. When I spiked up to 101.4 I was admitted to the hospital with shingles. But, I feel fairly certain, that has run its course (the pain has let up, significantly).

Today my primary said...it 'might' be something else and ordered a few tests and referred me to a new neuro. I am not scheduled to see the M.S. doc again for 6 mos.(plus, that is a very long drive to Los Angeles and I am not up for it, right now).

I am not sick and just getting over the shingles. I've been tested for Thyroid and the usual things...just hope my thermostat isn't completely shot!

Heat and Cold sensitivity and must keep the heater or a/c on, mostly? Probably related???

My blood pressure was normal for awhile and is now starting to go back up and down again. I have a new med for that though...sure hope it works!

Is there a part of the body that the symptoms are not annoying or life altering...it sure gets old~fast (thanks for reading the vent). fed

Yes...it does get old...really old. I am sorry you are going through all this.

I do anything to stay out of the docs office! Which is bad...because usually by the time I get there, I am pretty sick.

I hope you find the energy to go do what you need.

Thank YOU so much Katie for your emotional support, while you are going through so much yourself.

My RBC's are elevated and my potassium it's normal low. I take prescribed potassium pills bid and eat K+ foods.

Slight anemic? The nurse called and would not give me the numerical values. Told me the doc would call at 9PM after his last scheduled patient. I told her to tell him to go home with his family. I have an appt. on Friday, if I can make it.

Any ideas anyone??

I took a potassium pill, valium, robaxin and oxy last night about 9:30 PM and at 10:30 PM, Bad spasms all night last night and all day today, twisting of legs and the spasms are now moving up to my butt! but this seems to be a flare now..over 24 hours.


Repeated the meds at 3:00 AM and still, little or no relief.

The spasms have kept me up all night and day.

My M.S. specialist is overburden with her workload and it is, like all others...difficult to get in not to mention, I cannot even try to drive 70 miles one way, to Los Angeles and I don't have a friend young enough to try to.

public transport is out, I have mobility and serious pain issues. The jerking and bumping of public transport puts me down with my back.

yesterday on a side note, he said it is time to evaluate my 'progression.' I told him, I have never had a break and just keep getting worse. but this seems to be a flare now..over 24 hours.

Oh, I did request a local neuro that I know treast M.S. for this HMO and is now in Riverside. He said he'd refer me and not to be alarmed when it is refused, that he'd do the paperwork and it could take a month.

This morning the HMO called and said, "Which facility would you like to go to-offered up 3?" Then asked, "Can you come in today." I was up all night..doh.

I asked who I would see, it wasn't the doc I knew to see. So asked for him and was told that would be late November...I said, I've been sick for 2 years, whats anoher 2 months!! I have an appt with this neuro next Monday.

I have a bronchoscopy ordered, chest X-rays and a GI referral. I think that pretty much covers everything except ENT, now.

Sometimes, I guess I just get lucky, despite all this annoyance. I'll try to wait till Monday! I feel like I am already getting special treatment~~like everyone deserves! Sometimes I cry when I read how some of us are treated. fed
