    Emily,

I'm so sorry your visit to the urologist yesterday didn't help. Not sure where that possible endromitiosis dx came from. You should still be able to pee!

It's good someone actually finally 'tried' to do a bladder scan to see how much urine you're still retaining. Good grief that a 'nurse' at a urologist's office couldn't find your bladder. It is there! I've had plenty of them done at the hospital and rehab facility. Someone always eventually got it, even if it took a few times. Some (RNs, LPNs, or CNAs) were just more adept at getting it because they had had more practice. The RNs could always eventually find it.

A bladder ultrasound is a better way to see what's going on in your bladder. I have a separate appointment with the ultrasound tech to get my kidneys and then bladder scanned. They allow a 30 minute block to do each.

It's very possible you are slurring your words because you are taking too much pain medication. It's terrible this is what you have to do just to semi-function, sometimes. Dilaudid made me so weak I couldn't walk. Hard to say with all your pain if the pain medications are adding to your walking problems. I hope something is figured out, soon, or you're going to get hooked on pain medications.

I don't know what's causing your pooping problem, but MS can affect that, too. Plenty of us have had the your experience because the MS affects the nerve signals to our intestines. Been there and know how distressing that is.

Somehow, a dr. still has to do a cystoscopy to examine your bladder. Even a good urologist can only give a best guess about what may be wrong until that's done. Did that first urology office recommend an antibiotic? Something somewhere doesn't sound right.

I hope brothrgoose has some good advice she can share with you so you can get proper treatment. Never went into the medical profession and now know more than I ever expected from personal experience (former teacher here, too). I feel awful for you.

I wonder if the reason you are still suffering is because you don't have immediate access to a Trauma I hospital and their drs. (Makes me grateful I do)

I feel so bad for all you (& your family) are going through. Your DH & Ellie sound like precious gems.

This thread is about to close, so I hope brothrgoose or you keep us informed in a new thread about how you are doing. I'm keeping you in my prayers!

      Hi Sissy,

I am sorry you had to go through that. Bladder spasms can be quite painful. Glad you are doing better

It is possible for there to be confusion and uncertainty if a problem is Urological or GYN.

If this become the issue you can ask for a referral to a Uro- gynecologist. This is a Doctor who specializes in both Urology and Gynecology.

Thankyou Brothrgoose. And a big thanks to Admin who made the contact to get these two together.

Emily...hope you are feeling right as rain soon. When, you are on the mend I can give you the facts about your job, both technical stuff, union (if you are in a teachers union) and the legal stuff...that is my specialty. . But that should be another thread.

                      prelim update

                      Hi all!

Emily and I finally managed to get together.

We have a small time difference, she's mountain and I'm Pacific...one hour.

Im hoping we can make some quick progress over this holiday....I am off work until Wednesday.

Email is faster, but still tedious!

Her dilemma really hit a nerve for me. I guess mostly because I had medical knowledge, but was SO desperate for relief, that I put my trust before my instincts and it cost me my job as I was shamelessly overmedicated. Not on pain pills...but neurontin (morontin).

I fought back and im glad to have my mind back! I have my mind and I just can't bear to see it happen to someone else!!!

I'm not sure what to think

                        Hello!

I have sent Emily a reply and a few other mails trying to getb some idea of her amount of acquired disability and basic availability of stores.

She told me in her first mail they were leaving at 2pm for a 4pm appt.
That's quite a drive and I'm used to traffic in L.A..

So, I am baffled why I haven't heard back!

                          brothrgoose,

Hope you finally had luck reaching Emily. She mentioned she lived in a small/rural town. Somewhere out there 2 hours away from her neuro in Colorado (wonder if even in the same state?). An hour away from the hospital and the first urologist she saw. (I don't envy living out in the country when you have a health crisis!)

I reread all her posts ... going back to her introduction. (English teacher practically jumps off the page ) Realized I should've taken some notes along the way! Anyways, helped paint a clearer picture in my mind of all she's been through.

Her posts bring back so many of my own nightmares with egotistical drs. & hospitals. By the grace of God I'm not 6 ft. under. More than once. Literally.

Sure hope your clinical knowledge can help her. Best of luck ... keep us posted!

                            mystery

                            Kimba,
I read back through all her posts too, that's why I begged her to get in touch!

I would read her detailed account and I would just get mad about what the doctors did....or mostly, didn't do.

I remembered the rural part, hence my queries about how far away things were.

They are both teachers...same subject, I believe.

I will keep you all posted...right now, color me confused! !

                                Mystery

Emily got in tiuch with directly via a special account he created just for us to communicate.
My first contact was with her husband who just asked me tp answer.

I did, then Emily wrote me a long letter how thet were leaving at 2 for a 4 o'clock appointment with her neuro.
She's mountain time which is 2 ahead of me (Pacific).

She had questions and said even if she didn't get answers before the neuro appt, it was ok.

I typed furiously for an hour, but I'm a "hunt n pecker"....my left hand is useless for fine skills.
I sent a few other; kinda getting to know you things. I recalled her saying she was in a rural area, so I inquired about how far...say, a CVS or something like that was. I asked about her level of disability, etc.

I never received a reply from either her or her husband.
