Anyone taking Amatiza?

I was prescribed Amatiza for chronic constipation. I saw three gastros prior to this one, and they all told me Miralax......which I had been taking for some time. Finally this last doc told me about this drug. It comes in two strengths. Eight mill. twice a day, or 24. I am on the 8.

Anyone know anything about it?

I used it for about a month, the 24 mg. It kind of quit working after a week, at least for me. I'm on a med called Linzess now.

The amitiza made me a little sick.

Linzess is still non-formulary, so I have to pay $30 a month for it. I guess it helps some, but I still have to use suppositories more than I'd like to get things started. I'm pretty sure it is an MS thing, along with a very slow digestive system.

I tried to go up to the 24, but it made me nauseous, which I found out was a side effect, so I went back down. I agree, it works sometimes.

I didn't think there was anything else available.
