Klonopin for MS HUG?

Has anyone used Klonopin for the HUG? What have been the results and side effects?

I tried to convince my neuro to order Ativan, but for some reason she ordered Klonopin. Are they similar?

Klonopin and Ativan are both in the benzodiazepine class of drugs that 'depress' CNS activity.

Hi Marti! For me, klonopin has really helped manage MS symptoms like the hug. In fact, I had been taking klonopin from time to time due to weird and strange symptoms long before I knew I had MS. I like to think that it reboots my brain. I hope you find it helpful!!

Should I stop taking the little bit of Xanax that I take as needed? Does the Klonopin kind of replace Xanax??

Well I'm not a doctor, but in my opinion you should not take both at the same time cause they are both benzos. I have been on Klonopin for years even before I was dx for dizziness and it works wonders for me. It can be addictive but I can't function without it so I don't really care!!
