Hello everyone! I have not been DX with MS, and hope this isn't my issue, but i've been at this for so long i'm at my wits end and ready for some answers! Here is my story.
I'm 37, married and the mother of 2 boys ages 15 and 13. Very busy with sports and being their taxi driver. Anyway, i've had ongoing issues since i was about 25. My first things i had at the time, we (My Dr. and I) thought i had costocondritis. Years later when it happened again, i was DX with Pleurisy. Was averaging this quite often. Then while having it again, i was sent for a CT scan and was told Pericarditis (inflammation of the lining of the heart) Soon after i developed joint pain, and various other symptoms. Am now on my second Rheumatologist. I've been told Lupus, then no, then Lupus, then no, the Fibromyalgia. At this point i feel i'm just being shoved meds and pushed out the door. If i do have Fibro, i believe there is something to go along with it. These are my symptoms i've recently developed. Now i know these symptoms above are not typical of MS, but the ones below i believe are. But the pleurisy and Pericarditis aren't symptoms of Fibro either.
Numbness and tingling in fingers, toes and lips.
My arms and legs seem to fall asleep very easy. At first thought i was laying on them wrong at night, but sometimes i'll be on my back and wake up with them feeling dead. Just heavy. Not even tingling.
I've had the wierdest sensations of parts of my body just feeling big. That's the only way i can explain it. I won't even be moving but i imagine looking at my arm and it being huge, but of course it isn't. I can move it and it feels normal.
Buzzing sensations in various locations. Like my cell phone is in my pocket but it's not. I've actually reached for it before and it's not there.
EXTREME fatigue. My body always feels so weak and heavy. Like i'm walking thru mud. I've actually started falling asleep at work wile working.
Sunburnt or hot feeling on my face.
Tingling on my scalp.
Loss of balance.
Feel like i can't walk straight sometimes if i tried. I'm sure if i were ever pulled over and the cop made me walk a line i'd fail.
Can't think or talk right sometimes. Feel like i stutter or trip over my own words. I know what i want to say i just can't get it out without sounding like an idiot. I also have done very weird things. ie milk in the pantry, putting my car in R when i know it should be D. Luckily i have caught that everytime and not backed into things. Can't spell sometimes without really having to think about it.
I called my pcp today to make an appointment and talk about my new symptoms and see what he suggests. I just feel i'm not getting anywhere with my Rheumy. Matter of fact i've mentioned some of these new symptoms to him and he just brushes it under the Fibromyalgia rug, gives me more meds and pushes me out the door. If i have Fibro, then ok, but i just feel more tests should be done to rule out other things.
Any opinions would be great. I know you aren't Dr's and can't give me a certain answer, but sometimes experience with a disease and really having it can give the best advice! Thanks to all in advance!
