    Question about ON

Went to neuro opthalmalogist due to some eye pain, blurry vision, poss. ON.

Well my eyes looked good says to return in a year or sooner if problems and wrote down in my chart Diagnosis: Optic Neuropathy related to MS. HUH?

I don't get this. I thought if I had ON he could detect some sort of damage that caused symptoms. What exactly is Optic Neuropathy and if my eyes looked good how could he come up with that diagnosis?

Of course all these questions came to me three hours after the appointment and not while I was sitting in the office. Go figure.

Neuropathy refers to the nerves, themselves.
He can't see that kind of damage with only a "hands on" exam.
