LESIONS WERE WHITE AND NOW ARE BLACK

I think lesions can turn into "black holes" after awhile. They're called hypointense lesions (meaning they don't light up.) They're usually an indication of severe damage to the brain tissue in those areas.

Here's an article I found about them: http://www.ajnr.org/content/20/5/813.full

I'm surprised your doctors haven't seen this before. It happens in MS. Are you seeing an MS specialist?
Joy is not the absence of suffering. It is the presence of God.
Cut aspartame from my diet in 2012 and my symptoms have slowly disappeared. Interesting!
Alpha Lipoic Acid (200 mg) + Acetyl L-carnitine (1,000 mg) = No more fatigue for me!

      Hello darla,

Black holes are where there were lesions and permanent axon damage has been done. If you have a Neurologist(s) who does not know what black holes are then you need a new Doctor.

Just a positive word: I have black holes, and I am still quite ambulatory, and have primarily sensory symptoms. And yes, if your docs don't know what the black holes are, then you do need new docs....

It is possible for the brain to re-route around the damaged areas (black holes) and make new pathways.
