cannot sit up w/o weakness and pain

My son is suffering from such terrible weakness and back spasms that he can no longer sit upright for any length of time. Any one else that is experiencing this trauma and WHAT do you do?. He is still trying to work, but has to come home and just lay on the couch with ice on his spine. On Baclofen, but nothing is helping him stay upright.

First of all I am sorry for what you son and YOU are going through. What does his neuro recommend? How about the Baclofen pump? It seems to work wonders...

ASK about the pump and I hope he get relief soon.

So sorry to hear that! I don't have anything near that bad, but for the muscle spasms I do get, it usually helps to stretch the muscle a lot and to rub them. I know that yoga helps some people too. Hopefully someone can give you better advice that deals with a lot worse then I do.

Thanks for the replies and concern. I am often beside myself with worry for him. He is considering the baclofen pump. He wonders if it would help the spinal spasms and restore his walking ability.
