    important question.......

    hi

When anyone here had blood work done prior to their diagnosis with MS did you find that your absolute lymphocytes it's called on your blood work were lower than normal?

I've already emailed my neurologist to ask him, yet wanted feedback from you guys.

We ran blood work on my youngest, with whom as many of you know has bipolar and has been battling this odd food phobia for about a year and a half now. Yet when we did it this particular area in her blood work came out low.

I did a little bit of research and it states that ppl with MS tend to have a low count. Not freaking out, yet concerned. my pediatrician is referring her to a specialist in the a.m. to address the blood work abnormalities we're seeing.

thanks so much for any input.....

in my pre dx blood work my absolute lymphocytes were normal; 1949. The normal range is 850-3900.

    My total lymphocytes, % was 26.7 (15-49%)
    My CSF lymphocytes, % was 72 (40-80%)
I had elevated WBC in my CSF as well; 9 (0-5 Cells/mcL)
At weddings, my Aunts would poke me in the ribs and cackle "You're next!". They stopped when I started doing the same to them at funerals. Dave Barry

interesting, thanks so much for taking the time. im sitting with a puzzle today before me. have doctors' appt in a.m. at the hospital for her, more geared towards her kidney function which doesnt' seem to be functioning normally. Yet my peds and I saw this other level and said hmmmm.......

it's usually associated with any viral infection etc. yet it can also be symptomatic of ms i've heard.

      thanks for taking the time
