    Last question...I promise.

I've been posting on my burning sensations.

I'm wondering if this sounds familiar or "not" to anyone.

I get the burning on my face and other sporadic places...but my face is the worse. It can cover the left, the right, or my entire face. Yesterday it was horrible!!

Today, not so bad. BUT...now today the tip of my nose is burning (kind of an icy cold sensation). I've never had it just on my face. My face feels funny, but not burning like it was yesterday. Mainly just my nose and a little above my top lip.

That's it. Nothing else on my body is really bothering me...other than the MASSIVE floaters in my eyes.

I just want to know if I should stop worrying about MS and move on w/ my thoughts....

Been dealing w/ the burning on my body, off and on, since 2002.

I meant to say...I've never had it just on my "nose"...

    Sorry...

A burning sensation, under certain circumstances, was a secondary symptom in my latest relapse. The circumstances involved certain kinds of contact on my left side, from mid chest to mid thigh. Running water felt like it was burning. The sheets when I got into bed felt the same way. The symptom resolved prior to IV steroid treatment.

It could possible trigeminal neuralgia. You may want to call your neuro.

I'm more concerned about the massive floaters. I had some good-sized floaters about 6 weeks ago. I saw the ophthalmologist, who referred me to a retinal specialist. I had a tear in my retina. It was repaired then and there with laser surgery. The next level from there is a detached retina which, I believe, requires hospitalization and surgery. Please take care of your eyes.

Oh, and forget about the "one last question." This is the place to ask them and connect with others who may have experienced something similar.

Let us know what you find out!

I have heard of what you speak of...

My burning is not brought on by stimuli. However hot water is much more intense, or hot objects in general, when I'm dealing with my flare of whatever this is. Sometimes cold objects, like metal chair legs, feel like a burning cold. Strange. This has been going on since the Spring of 2002, off and on. I felt almost perfect for alnost 4 yrs until this past May when my x-husband upset me. It's like my nerves are just ON EDGE, literally.

However, I do get sensitive skin pain when clothes or anything brush up against me. When I'm home, relaxed....or getting ready for new, these symptoms almost disappear.

            Thanks CatMom.

As for the floaters, I have seen my retinal specialist and the opthamologist who dx me w/ Pars Planitis 3 times since July. All 3 appts were great. They said I have nothing going on w/in my eye. They can see the debri, that's it. BTW, I was dx w/ Pars Planitis in '94. I never had any vision loss or had to have any treatments for it, thank God. It can be linked to MS in small percentages, but I've not been dx w/ MS.

The floaters seem different now...or maybe I just pay more attention to it now. The floaters had been basically settled for years, or I had not noticed them...and in May they became noticable again - so I went and saw my retinal specialist. I had a thorough exam, which included the pictures and everything. All was well. Thank God. I saw my opthamologist in September and then again in October. Both visits were good. I even did a "visual field test" which was normal. I was shocked. But I guess they know their eyes.

All these years that I've discussed burning in my face w/ so many drs, they have never said anything about TN. I've read about it....but w/ TN it seems to be horribly painful...like internal pain and shocking/cutting sensations, I believe. Mine is surface, or just under the surface - painful, but not stabbing. So WEIRD!
