    cold

I've been diagnosed for 6 years. It seems like I am always cold anymore. I am not sure if it is related to me having ms or if it is caused by one of the medicines I take. I am on Ritalin, Tysabri, Baclofen, Carbamazepine, remron, aricept, & temazepam.
If this is in the wrong area I apologize.

Hi pballer, I know the feeling all too well! I have just seen my new MS specialist this past Monday and he said in my case it was to do with the location of the lesion in my neck/spine.

Just the other day I put a thread in here under Assisted Devices that tells about some warming slippers and a wrap that can be either heated in the microwave, or put in the freezer, depending on if your cold or hot. Check it out. I think their awesome!

      Hi pballer,

      My answer...I don't know.

I have what I believe is a unique situation. I am cold much of the time. I take very hot showers, use an electric blanket on high for long periods of time and wear a jacket much of the time. And...I am heat intolerant, so I do pay for the amount of heat I put myself under.

We were recently out doors for 3 days in a row, about 10 hours each day. The average temp was 83, I wore my jacket much of the time, came home with a mild sunburn and have paid for the amount of heat I exposed myself to with the temps and wearing a jacket in those high temps.

I have had quite a bit of bloodwork and everything comes up normal. My TSH (Thyroid) is in the normal range. My neuro has not had a patient with the type of problem I am having. So, at the moment I have no idea why I am so cold, if it is MS related...or not.

I would suggest you see your PCP to rule out any other cause to being cold and once that is done, see your neuro.

      Take care.
