Any one have neck spasms ?

I have leg spasms, and pain. But neck spasms ? i haven't heard of them. Lucky they don't last long, like the legs but it really freaks me out.

Yes, you can get neck spasms:

There is also a condition called Torticollis:

I have severe neck spasms and pain. My Neuro called it dystonia....very painful! It can pull my neck down to the right and my shoulder up!

            Ugh

I was in PT all summer for this.

My baclofen pump helps with spasms from about the T9 down; but above that , nothing.

The PT said that my neck muscles have weakened and that is adding to the problem.

She gave me stretches and exercises, electric stim, and also did deep tissue massage.

Now I have a tens-like unit for home, work, or in the car.

Maybe you could look into something like that for relief.

            Good Luck.

Ugh... I have this problem too. My neck spasms are usually accompanied by back spasms. They usually only last a few minutes but I can actually feel the muscle spasm if I put my hand on it. Not very pleasant.

Yes, I just sit in my fave chair and lie my head to the side. It's pretty scary for me. It makes me feel as if my neck is "weak" and that worries me.

I have hidden this from my entire family. I just tough it out and know eventually it will go away it always does.

Does anyone else have the sensation of weakness?

Have you tried Physical Therapy? If not then I would suggest asking your Doctor for a referral to PT. A PT can help with neck spasms and neck weakness.

I've had some issues with that recently, along with spasms in my shoulders and feet. Not pleasant! The Baclofen does seem to help with my neck and shoulder issues.

Neck spasms are a frightening new symptom for me, too. Mine always happens as I am about to fall asleep.
