    Stair lift in US

The Stair Lifts in the United States are a "Home Improvement" and are not considered a Medical Necessity. Can't seem to get any help with cost.
Medicare and Medicaid will not help.

I am in a two story home with a 13 step rise to the second floor.I am 63 years old and have had SPMS since 1997. I have numbness, tingling and weakness in my legs and feet. Still cant' get help. Maybe I need to LOOK
    SICK. Oh well.

I have looked into a few different items to help with my wheelchair, and absolutely nothing I looked into was covered! It looks as if there are a multitude of items that we cannot get help with, or if we do find help it is not enough to cover all the costs. All I can tell you is to keep trying, and not give up.

      Hi Cheryl,

Sometimes a good used stairlift will be listed at a site such as craig's list, or even in a large city newspaper. Often these are half price or less.

We just purchased a used one and installed it without difficulty. I think about any handyman could easily do so, if you have someone to help.

Don't know if a MS society could help but perhaps.
