Never had a rectal prolapse, but have had other prolapses and had them repaired by a urogyn.

Prolapse can be a consequence of MS (from what I've read.)

I am a firm believer in urogynecologists and the specialty, but if I had a rectal prolapse, I might also want to consult with a colorectal surgeon.

        It can be surgically repaired.

        Hope you find some answers.

          Rectal prolapse

Sounds like you are doing the right thing by consulting with an M.D. Have you considered consulting with a colorectal surgeon? This might be the type of specialist you need to see. Good luck. This sounds like a really unpleasant problem. I can sympathize because when I was doing chemotherapy (for breast cancer) I sometimes had uncontrollable diarrhea. I know about not making it to the bathroom in a timely manner and then having to shower or change clothes.

I agree. I went to a colorectal surgeon for this very same problem. I had a full-thickness rectal prolapse and finally had it surgically repaired last April (and I was only 28). It was definitely worth it.
