    Dealing with a permanent catheter

Just wondering if anyone else is living with this? It is really bothersome and has totally ruined my sex life with my husband. I tried to stop using it but I have no bladder control left at all. I am so upset with this any suggestions?

I have no experience or advice, but I am so sorry

try mutually satisfying was to do sex without penetration, or at least by the usual way. If all the parts are working, I'sure where there is a will there is a way. Now go get his heart pumping. Experimentation time. Google sex position guides. If you are like me, there will be a lot of huh, how they do that. Most are animated characters, no porn.

What about an SP catheter instead of a standard indwelling catheter?? its a simple procedure to put one in and if you did not like it any better than the standard catheter, when you remove the SP catheter, the hole closes over very quickly

I had a standard indwelling catheter and my urologist was keen to convert it to an SP, she said apart from the fact it was not "in the way", there was less risk of UTI as it is further away from the back passage so less risk of contamination, She also said that urethral erosion is a potential long term complication of standard catheters which leads to constant urine leaking. And i must say that as a person who is not very mobile, the SP catheter is far easier to look after

different positions etc are great ideas and variety is always a good thing! but personally i had been reluctant to have the SP catheter at first, i now think it was a much better option for me- check it out
