    Dr. in Seattle?

Can anyone suggest a good neurologist (perhaps an MS specialist) in the Seattle area? Could you tell me what it is about them that you like? Thanks!

Abby, you might try the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (website: nmss.org). Local chapters have lists of local MS specialists.
As far as possible without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.

I heard the Virginia Mason in Seattle has some good ones. I am on the other side of the Puget Sound so they are a little far for me. I think there is a Dr. Kita there that people have raved about but I have not seen her myself.

Good ms specialist in Seattle area

I like dr brown in Kirkland at the evergreen ms center. He is not a neurologist but a rehab dr. He is very knowkegable about ms and very easy to talk to

Dr Bowen my friend likes. He is a neuroligist and might be at Virginia mason but I am not certain. I met him once. He was kind and new a lot but I found dr brown easier to talk with.

Seattle has a number of ms centers. Sometime one dr is good for you and not for another.

          Seattle MS specialist

I've been with Dr. Kita at Virgina Mason for 6 years and really like her. Very knowledgeable and helpful. She also has an extremly helpful support staff. As with any doctors visit go in with a list of questions and concerns because she sticks pretty close to her schedule (as they all need to do these days). I have several friends with MS who go to Kita, plus I know many who like Lily Jung at Swedish and Dr. Brown. I've heard them all speak at MS Lectures and know they all care for us as individuals. Seattle has several good MS specialists. As the previous poster stated the local MS Society will give you a list.
          All the best!

                Swedish Neurosciences Center

I see Dr. Lily Jung-Henson; have been going there for about 3 months. She seems to be good so far.

I was seeing Dr. Mary Reif when I was first dx and loved her thoroughness and kindness. She would always mail me notes from our meetings. I believe she was in one of the Swedish medical bldgs. That was about 10 yrs ago or so and hopefully she is still there. I had to find someone closer to home, so stopped going after a year or so. Good luck in your search!

                    Dr Kita

                    Hi There,

I have to recommend Dr. Kita at Virginia Mason. I don't see her regularly, (I have Group Health) but I have seen her a few times. Not only is she great but her care team is also. They have a newly diagnosed group that meets for new patients and the also have a group called Whats Next, that meets every 3 months. My Neuro from Group Health referred me to Dr. Kita when there was some uncertainty about my diagnosis. Dr Kita go to the bottom of things. On a regular basis I see Dr. Searce who is with Group Health in Seattle. He is really great also! Good Luck! I hope you find the Dr that is right for you!
