Acupuncture and MS??

Has anyone tried acupuncture to treat MS symptoms?

I would like to hear anyone's experience, positive or negative.

I went today and had one treatment with two to follow next week. I have never had any acupuncture in the past, but my neuro said it would be worth trying.

He said some have got relief some their symptoms, other saw no improvement. I felt I needed to give it a try!

I tried accupuncture for nerve pain in my arm due to MS. I didn't find any relief but I have been to talks where some MS specialists have said it may help some people.

Maybe I didn't believe in it enough but I found it strange to try a treatment that no one seems to know how it works.

The accupuncture specialist did make sense though when we discussed Vitamin D levels, CoQ10, sublingual B12 and
Calcium so I did learn alot from him.

Yes, to the acupuncture. I love it and I felt it helped very much with pain and stiffness. Even if it was because I became really relaxed or had the thought in my mind it helped, it really did help. I don't care where I get the help from I just want the help. I love the total relaxation.

I hope you can get some help from your's but I think you do have to be mentally positive about it.

I used it for pain and it worked very well. Unfortunately it caused a tremor in my leg and I never went back.

My new primary is encouraging me to go back.

I've not ever know anyone to get acupuncture for MS symptoms but everytime I've ever talked to or read about acupuncture, it seems the people that are having it done swear by it to make them feel better! It would be sure worth a shot!!

I've always wanted to try acupuncture for severe headaches that I get.

Does anyone know if insurance covers acupuncture?

My insurance covers if you go to a preferred provider on their list. There are not many to choose from but I know that they are not just conning people. They actually deliver acupuncture and are trained specialists. It is covered almost like going to a chiropracter.

Check you insurance and see if it is covered. Every insurance plan is different.
