Looking for New Neuro St. Louis Area

My Neuro moved out of state and I still haven't found one.

I'm in St. Louis around West Port. I'd really like to find one that takes some time and listens and doesn't push you through like cattle.

Dr. Karen Pentella in Lake St. Louis is my wife’s neuro for migraines and for my MS, we both think she is fantastic.

She Dx me in a week ten years ago when she was seeing working and teaching at Barnes down town St Louis. When she left Barnes we lost track of her, try several neuros none even came close to her quality of care. We drive 1 ˝ hours to see her and would do a longer drive if needed, we feel she is that good.

P.S. From West Port you will likely take 70, so I also recommend stopping on your way home at “China buffet and grill” on highway K. And prepare to over eat.

Dr. Barry Singer is a Missouri Baptist on Ballas. He is absolutely wonderful and so is the staff. He has been watching me for two years now. He is an MS specialist. He takes his time and talks like a normal human being. Very considerate and straight forward. ALWAYS answers my questions in plain english.

I actually considered calling Singer. I was a little concerned with his publicity that it may be an MS machine pushing you through.
If he takes his time with his patients then he is worth considering. I wanted a MoBap or St. Johns Doc.
My problem is I need to find a new primary as well that will refer to him.
I worked CriticalCare at Depaul before all this madness and I, of course went with a Doc I knew.
Now though as I said he is gone and I prefer not to stay at Depaul. The facility has changed so much in the last 10 years.

          St. Louis MS center

          Hello Larry
I would recommend the John L Trotter MS Center at Washington University Medical Center. I do not have personal experience with them, as I now live on the east coast, but Wash U has one of the best med centers in the country and I went to OT school there many years ago. The number is 314-362-3307. If I lived in St. Louis that is where I would go without a doubt. You can also google it to find more information.
Hope this helps and have some Ted Drewes ice cream for me please!

Larry if you're looking for a really good PCP. Dr. Robert Uchiyama at St. Lukes. It took me 9 years to find a good one and I finally did. He is also my rheumatoligist.

He would recommend Dr. Singer. He is very good with patients and is known as the testing doc. to find out what the problem.

He was also the one who put me on Rituxan because of my RA and MS. He did his research and sent me articles in the mail about how Rituxan works on both.

Took me a looooooong time to get a great team together but it was worth going through the bad to allow you to see what a good doc is. Good luck in your search.
