    DHMC MS Clinic?

    Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone has been seen at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock MS Clinic. I was originally diagnosed at Hitchcock in 2003. I had a bad experience with my neuro at that time. Very bad, scarring in fact. I had moved away from the area but have recently moved back. I have an upcoming appointment to establish care with a different doctor in the MS Clinic, which is new since I left town. I'm wondering if anyone has had a good experience there, because I'm really nervous about this upcoming appointment. I know that I need a local neurologist, but I don't want one like my first.

What's the likelihood that I can find someone vastly different in the same department? (High, I hope : / )

Love the MS Clinic at DHMC

I can't say enough great things about the MS clinic. I travel three hours round-trip to be treated there. I was diagnosed in Concord in January, had 2nd opinion in Feb. at DHMC MS Clinic and decided to stay on as a patient there.

The first person I saw in the MS Clinic was Nancy, who is an MS Nurse Practioner. She was incredible - loved her. Spent 1 1/2 hrs. with my hubby and I for my first appt.

Dr. Llana is my neuro and I really like him, too. He has a sense of humor, presents me with the facts, gives his opinion, but is not pushy about it. Very thorough.

Stacey, the MS nurse, is the same nurse who trained me the other night on my new Betaseron injections. I've never done injections before. She is really great and did a wonderful job with my training.

Even the receptionist, Elizabeth, is so nice to work with, setting up appointments, etc.

I've had nothing but great experiences with the whole facility so far, but I've only been going there for 6 months. I know someone else who moved from a Dr. in Boston to DHMC and likes it much better because it's a "team" that works together to treat you.

Good luck, I hope it works out for you too. If you have any other / specific questions, please let me know.

I have used the MS center at DHMC & it was good, But they did not communicate with me quickly and they were not easy to speak with a specialist. I use Dr. Skip Jenkyn Neorologist (he's great & he comminicates to you quickly within mins.by email) at Valley Medical Center in Lebanon NH. Dr Jenkyn used to be a DHMC.
