    Stabbing pain in my eyes

Hi! I have had several episodes of a stabbing pain in my eye. I have been dx for 8 years with RR and optic nerve damage in both eyes. Is this pain from optic neuritis? Also does any one have problems with the tips of their fingers and toes going numb? Especially the thumb? Any answers would be appreciated!!!:

lots of things can set off eye pain. bright lights, like those in Walmarts do it for me, or sunlight. perhaps you should call your ophthalmologist to be sure you are not having another bout of ON. yes, finger tips and toes do tingle so now and then. you may find you get all sort of strange tinglings that come and go. hang in there.

      Hi BeckyBo--stabbing pain in eyes-horrible!

I had that back in 1997, only lasted a split second but felt like someone stuck a ice pick in my eye! It only happened about half a dozen times or so, over maybe 6 months.

I finally made a appt with my eye doctor and he couldn't find anything abnormal. He sent me to a eye specialist. When I told her of the weird feelings also in my feet for 3 years, numbness and tingling, she thought maybe MS, but things just didn't fall into place for it. She also couldn't find anything wrong with my eyes.

I know now that I had MS at that time, because of the sx that first started in August 1994. Nothing ever developed, the pain went away and never came back!

My feet have had numbness and tingling, specially the toes all these years. I've always said that I don't know what normal feet are suppose to feel like anymore. This really affects the left foot, now my weak side. The right side never gives me problems.

I should add that I wasn't DX till July of 2007! Don't know about the numb thumb-- hope your sx get better soon!
