    MRI question (brain versus C-spine)

I've had a number of brain MRIs over the past 10 years since my MS first reared its head, but today I had my first cervical spine MRI as well. My MS specialist's office is in another state so I got a CD of the images to take to my appt.

I popped it in out of curiosity and was just looking through. To my untrained eye, the c-spine images look much more blurry than the brain images on this CD and on MRIs I've had in the past. Is this normal for spine MRIs or does it sound like I got a bad CD (or maybe even a bad MRI)? I'd just hate to drive the 75 miles to my MS Center for my next appt only to be told the images are unusable!
2001: 1st 2 relapses, "probable MS." 2007: 3rd relapse. Dx of RRMS confirmed by MS specialist. Started Cpx. (Off Cpx Feb 08-Mar 09 to start a family; twins!) Dec '09: Started Beta. Oct '13: Started Tecfidera. May '15: Considering Gilenya.

I am not sure but you can call the office and voice your concerns. Maybe it's your computer? I would hope the radiologist would have a report and if the images weren't good, they would give you the heads up vs getting a call from a disappointed doc.

      Hi hope:
Here's a website with spinal MRIs for you to look at for comparison:
      http://www.radiologyassistant.nl/en/...a459d4495f1dc5.
The detail should be sharp (different details may be more or less sharp, depending on the depth of the slice). Much more blurry than brain MRIs doesn't sound right, so there may be a technical issue that needs to be explained. As spunky suggested, you could start by calling the MRI center and asking what's up. The radiology report would be very helpful, too.

I know that C-Spine images are not as easy to view as Brain images. I was unable to get a decent view of my
C-Spine image from the disk...and my PCP, who is well versed in MS, did not even try. The Neuro. pulled up a clean image.

        Bad CD or MRI? Really?

I think it may be a technical problem with the computer. My neurologist requires that his patients keep the CDs and bring them to each appt. When I look at the images with him, I can see the lesions clearly. No Dawson's fingers just orbs of white. I tried to load the images onto my laptop to share with my husband. The images were not clear, I could not find the lesions or landmarks. It may be the program used to download the images is not the same. Just my thoughts since my CD looks blurry too.
