Is anyone dealing with muscle jerks and spasms? If so, how severe are they, how often do they occur, and how is your doctor treating you for them (if anything)? I seem to be having a relapse now and those were the first two symptoms that come along. I haven't had those before so I'm just curious what others' experiences have been with these symptoms.

hope i get those all the time!! I am on flexeril at night only because i use the spasms to help me walk during the day. I have had them so bad though that on occasions i have spasmed right out of my wheelchair when i have been out. now i always use my seat belt that they put on there, i guess it was for a reason right!!??

I seem to get them the worst when I lay down for a nap and when I go to bed, just wierd that when I lay down to let my body relax they become worse. I get them in the daytime also just not as bad. I take 2 Xanax and one Baclofent half hour before bedtime and that seem to help with the jerking and my legs also don't hurt as bad

Hi Hope32!
I have had this too.
It started during a big bout of lots of symptoms in general (I guess a flare, but I dont have a diagnosis) which included spasticity and muscles spasms.
They were the worst when I relaxed or wanted to sleep. (had really hard time falling asleep because of it. Wasnt so fun)
When that flare calmed down the jerks calmed down lot too.
I still get them when I fall asleep or worse when my symptoms are more active, but so far never that bad since then. I'd say for me about 90% gone right now, but everyone is different.
I hope you get support with this issue, because being able to relax without limbs flying around and twitching a lot is so essential to feeling rested. Good luck*undiagnosed and just hangin' in there somehow*

night time
I get spasms in my legs on a fairly regular basis when I lay down to go to sleep. It doesn't happen all the time, but frequently enough to drive me crazy! And of course, the more fatigued I am the worse the spasms are.
I haven't asked to the doc for anything yet...going to try some potassium first.
