Cleaning neck coolers

Anyone know how to clean the neck coolers with the beads inside (like Shared Solutions gives out)? I'd use soap and water but am not sure if I would be able to rinse the soap out of the beads.

My coolers are starting to get just a bit too coated with sweat, sunblock, and insect repellent to be usable.

Why not try just plain water? I think I have washed mine in with the regular laundry accidently and haven't noticed any change in the effectiveness.
