THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY!!

Lately this is how its been going -------------

THE GOOD-- after icing my leg I can walk better and foot lifts better for an hour or so

THE BAD-- been tripping over my cane while walking in the house! How weird is that??

THE UGLY-- been sitting out back under a patio umbrella so I'm in the shade. Then the humidity comes in and I have all I can do to get out of my chair at the table and hobble the few steps to get back in the house! I have taken to dragging a chair with me from the table to the door so I have something besides my cane to help me walk. I always have a phone with me just in case I might have to call a friend to help me. Kinda reminds me of -Do you want to be a Millionaire-- and I'm using one of my so called "LIFE-LINES!

There's nothing worse than the heat and humidity is there? Well, maybe but it sure makes life tougher. I told DH I wanted to move north, way, way North. LOL

@ CasinoKathy - please be careful ! Maybe you need a rollator or walker instead of just the cane during the heat ?

I've wanted to be outside but it has been way too hot and humid, even in the shade. I've been living in the AC the last few days. At least it is only temporary as we are in New Hampshire. The saying goes "If you wait a minute, the weather will change." Glad it cools down in the evenings most days so that I can enjoy a little bit of outside time.

      @ Lendi - Like so far North you'd be Santa's neighbor ?!

We're kinda north, not quite Santa's neighbour, and for the past few days it's so hot and humid here. My AC is set to such a cold temp that when people open the front door to come inside frosty air comes rushing out of the house like what happens when you open the freezer. No joke!! Even my pup would rather play ball in the house than in the backyard or the dog park.

I have friends in Norway that keep trying to convince me to move there. The reason? Not as bad heat in the summer time, cold winters (although granted, a TON of snow) and socialized health care. He thinks all of my problems would be solved if I just moved to Norway, lol.

You could always move to the pacific northwest! We have lots of MS transplants here Yesterday was in the 80's with low humidity (the warmest day so far) - I was in my garden and the heat got to me so bad that I had to crawl on hands and knees back to the house!! Guess, I'm not acclimated to anything above 75 degrees. Hardly anyone has AC, that's how cool it is most of the time.

I feel for the rest of you with the heat you're having. Casino, take care now! Do you have a cooling vest or collar? Maybe it's time to invest in one? A rollator too, like cosake suggested.

Hey girlfriend Kathy!! I can always appreciate your humor in describing your situation. AND yes, I have tripped over my quad cane many a time. One time AT the doc's office while trying to adjust my shoulder purse onto shoulder then it fell down pulling my arms and tripping over my cane="ashes, ashes..ALL fall down!!

I thought I was lucky saying that I am not affected by the heat=wrong!! Now I am, notiably when I am drying my hair!! It makes me sick and weak. So I pace it into steps..cool off..try again.. keeping the window open even in winter.

Also, HUMIDITY seems to make me sicker..and its hard to breathe even in the house.

So..glad you keep your phone nearby, have that chair, but I agree its good to get a rollator (4 wheel). When I am not draping clothes over it.. I use the seat to rest ..that keeps me going.

Still.. always look for YOUR posts Kathy

Actually I've thought of bringing a small soft cooler outback with me, filled with a few ice packs. That would help me! I do have a walker, but that wouldn't work because I have a couple steps to do out there. Hubby says I can't get a rollator- as I would probably kill myself with it. He's a smart man!!

UGH WISCONSIN!!! This has been a HORRIBLE summer thus far! Take care of yourself! I enjoy being outside as well but this has been a nasty humid summer so far. I had a friend describe the weather to me the other day as being "chewy" lol. I had to chuckle and I completely agreed! Be safe out there!
