    Unprofessional Ep's..Upset

=( I'm so mad and frustrated it makes me cry right now.
I waited an hour longer than my actual appointment was scheduled at.
Then an older man comes in about age range of 70?
I'd say alike that.He walked not well himself and when we got to the room he asked my complaints a bit.
He thought if I was blind and all that first, LOL?
Can't you even recognise someone being blind or not?...Ok.
So they said they'd perform all EP's which are of those.(On the paper) and he only did two..
He didn't even use an eyepatch or anything professional he used just a woolen thing you can rub your face off with like to take make-up off etc.And a little tap to stick it over my eye...Oh my goodness.

And then he only tested my feet reflex?
I did obviously feel a difference but who are we I guess?
So he ends it with saying all was normal..OK I see...I got so mad I cried when mom and me got out of the hospital(And brother was with us)

She told me to calm down gladly but I am still just so mad.
They only did the Visual Evoked Potentials and the Motor one but they didn't even test all the reflexes?
Only like the feet ones, what about elbows and all that?ugh! I already told mom to await tomorrow then for my Spinal Tap results(they're looking for Immune-activity and well if nothing or depending what they say..
We'll consult a MS specialist.Just I have all those complaints, can barely feel..I know it's not imagined and the papers of the examination of last time don't lie either..it just makes me scared as it was all like this last time too. Before they found the Lupus and all that

I pray for tomorrow to show something/
Also is it normal they insert needles in your head for this tests?
I thought it'd be like they do with an EEG, like sticker alike things.

I've found that the MS specialist was the most thorough in examination; however, truth be told I went through 2 Neurologists and several hospital stays before they found out what was wrong. They thought during the last hospital stay I was having a stroke, until they did the MRI's.

My point is, doctors are human and fallible and they have off days...if you feel he was not giving you a thorough exam I would get a second opinion from another doctor. Spinal taps are not a deciding factor for ms. they are a puzzle piece but you can have MS while having a normal spinal.

I understand your frustration, I was too...I'm sorry you are going through this. (hugs) It sometimes takes a long time to get the dx. your pain and discomfort are real and you need to document everything you feel, and when it happens. It will help. Also, keep a journal of everything the doctor tests and those results as well as what they tell you. Its a long journey and it will be difficult to remember everything as you bounce from doctor to doctor.

Take a deep breath, do something nice for yourself and remind yourself that its ok to feel frustrated and cry, just don't let it consume you.

Let us know how you make out.
Hope for the best, prepare for the worst and that way you have all your bases covered.

      Thank you Fox!
It's just mainly that I have a whole life ahead of me and am only 17 years old as some know here.
That is what makes this the most frustrating.
Of course people of age range 30 with kids etc, it's the same.

But I am sure anyone would feel frustrated also being this young and actually should be out, yet I am here at home with all this and also struggle walking, all the amusement MS gives.

I just hope it doesn't take too long for it to show itself.
But I know I must keep looking, I won't just wait and see what happens..

First of all HUGS my dear for ALL you are going through.. dang what an experience.

When anyone keeps us waiting, its only polite to have SOMEONE let us know..or go up and ask at the desk next time ok? Was anyone else there to register you for this appt??

Ok.. he walks and sounded old. Not sure why he completed only 2 of the 3 that were ordered. Right? I would tell the MD who ordered them about your experience.

You seem well informed and pay attention to your exams. Great..but did you ask him why he only did 2 of the tests?

Again.. discuss this with the ordering doc.

Hang in there.. its hard and scary at times..WE know that. So remember this, you are NEVER alone ..we care and will understand and support you, ok?

        Warmly, Jan

Shani, you're welcome. I know how hard it is believe me. I am 39 and still wonder the same things you mention. The not knowing how this will all turn out can be so frustrating. That's the best part of this community...having people you can turn to that have all been there and know what you're feeling. I try to stay fairly positive but I have some down moments too and some moments where I am just fighting mad. You are not alone.
Hope for the best, prepare for the worst and that way you have all your bases covered.
