You could contact your local chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (website: nmss.org) to ask about their list of local neurologists. I have found that seeing an MS specialist really makes a difference. They know what I'm talking about when I say things like, "I have foot drop."
He also might want to go to support groups to find out who is recommended by them, and who is definitely not.
As far as possible without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.
Hey and welcome; there is actually a specialist in the midlands, not the upstate. Contact University Specialty clinics for info. I am also aware that there is a specialist in the Charleston area. Prior to SC having ms specialst- at all- I went to Georgia b/c my Neuro wasn't comfortable txing me w/out a Neuro who specialized in ms seeing me. He was willing to work in conjunction with the Dr in Ga, and we did that or a period of time.
Please encourage your spouse to see an ms specialist, as opposed to a general Neuro... @ least once, for an evlaluation and reccomendations. Hope this helps, & good luck! Shalom,
Suz
