    Worse after a nap?

I've been holding off on posting this question for a while because I thought it sounded ridiculous. I definitely feel worse after a nap. My spasticity in hands, legs, torso seems worse after a 30-60 minute nap. I don't experience this when I wake up in the morning though. Anyone else?

    Hi,

Yes I experience this after a nap, or from just being in one position for too long.

My stretching exercises help a lot.

      Hello Stacey

I'm right there with ya. I am not a successful nap taker either - I feel very crummy, out of sorts, and my mobility is not good when I wake up from a nap.

I will lay down to rest and it is very helpful and usually necessary. But I know my day is done if I fall asleep.

      Thanks for sharing!

      Take care,

        Hi Stacey...

I feel the same way after a nap. I really need one, I can barely keep my eyes open if I don't take one some days. But, when I wake up, I can barely walk and I shake like a leaf and am so groggy. I look like a drunk...and feel like one too! I have noticed that if I wake during the night after only an hour or two of sleep, I feel the same way. It must have something to do with the short amount of sleep we are getting. Not sure though.

I must be the exception... I feel alot better! It's like my body gets re-energized.

Usually 20-30 minutes is enough for me.

My body feels horrible when I wake up from a nap, and morning, but my mind and head will feel better after a nap a bit clearer. I just can't move for a good while.

I bet you are in the majority of folks who feel better after a daytime nap.

I feel much better after lying down and resting quietly for 30 minutes or so. But if I fall asleep, and then when I wake up it feels like the middle of the night. Maybe I go into too much of a deep sleep or something

Anyways, glad you're able take successful naps, and I'm pretty sure most people benefit from them (there are always a few of us oddballs in the mix)

                Thanks everyone!
My mobility is horrible after a nap, but when I do nap, it's because I can hardly keep my eyes open! I wonder what it is that makes us feel like this?
                Thanks again for your responses!
