    Specialists

Most of us have a host of problems, illnessess etc. I was wondering how many specialists you all see? I have several and I can't seem to get them to consult with each other. As a result I'm running in circles from one to the other, with overlapping symptoms and getting nowhere. Each one wants to "blame" the other condition for the symptom of the day and I'm not getting any relief. I really don't expect much from the neuro concering the MS. But, I honestly believe there is some common thread between all or some of my other "syndromes".

Anyone have any suggestions or comments?

I just have the neuro opth, the MS specialist and the headache neuro. The neuro opth and the MS specialist consult b/c they are in the same hospital - they work closely together. My headache neuro is good - but local - no consulting there. I would try to get doctors all in the same place - that always helps. If that is possible.

Another option. Get copies of ALL your medical files. If you've already had a doctor "prove" that a symptom isn't related to his specialty, show the file to the other doctor. It ends some of the bickering (at least to your face).

        I have.....

a MS Neuro MD , Neuro-Opthom., & a Gastroent. and then my general MD. This too happens to me at times. My regular MD wants to blame everything on MS and then other MD's says that every pain/SX I mention" is not connected to MS and see your general MD".( Except the Gastro he's in agreement my GI SX are MS related. )

So it goes around in circles and I get no real relief or answers from anyone. I know exactly how you feel and have thought of posting this same topic.

Yep I have been on that merry-go-round. The last straw was when urologist wanted to do surgery before even trying any type of meds first. I went staight to my PCP. He do not even think about it and gave me a rx which has done wonders. Ever since then I see just 2. My PCP which treats my high blood pressure, cholesterol, BPH, and between he and my neuro my MS sx. Sure has been less complicated.
