    STEROID TREATMENT? PAIN AND NUMBNESS

My husband was diagnosed three years ago, had pain and numbness in the arms and hands, he had an iv steroid treatment and that helped. All MRIs have showed no change, no new lesions. The past few months his feet are numb, feel swollen, hot and cold and this feeling is traveling up the legs a bit. He cant stand too long because of the pain. I can tell he is getting nervous. The dr wants to try the steroid treatment but we have to wait to get his blood pressure under control, (another new issue). He did get a prescription for the pain, Neurmtin, not sure if that is how it is spelled.
It can be dangerous to have the iv treatment with high blood pressure, Has anyone had good results with steroids?

Steroids often speed recovery from an exaserbation, many get good results, but not all can tolerate steroids.
It is a tough situation because of the blood pressure.
    Let us know what happens.

The doctor feels he should try gabopentin first, then maybe he wont need the steroids?
