easy gluten free waffles

These may be the simplest waffles you’ll ever make! If using a Belgian waffle maker, yields about 4 crispy, fluffy waffles.


  • 1 1/3 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/4 cup water or nut milk
  • 2 tbsp olive or avocado oil
  • Oil for greasing waffle iron


  • Medium mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Whisk
  • Small bowl or 2-cup measuring cup
  • Waffle maker
  • Pastry brush
  • Wooden spoon or silicone scraper or spatula

How to:

Brush the waffle irons with oil, and set to heating. In medium mixing bowl, whisk together the first four ingredients. In the small bowl, whisk the eggs until yellow. Pour them into the dry ingredients, then pour in the water and 2 tbsp oil. Whisk batter until smooth. For each waffle, pour about 3/4 cup batter into the hot iron. Gently lift out the finished waffle with a wooden spoon. Serve immediately!
