    Made revised goal

My goal was simply to track and report.

    1x PT
    1x chair yoga
1x walk just a few laps in my house.

    Same goal.

And although this is an exercise thread, I'm going to change my focus. My focus is to work on resilience strategies. So, at least for this week, I'm going to start a resilience thread for myself because resilience is a part of wellness too. Feel free to join in if it's helpful for anyone else.

      Motion is progress Mamabug.

I continued to cruise this week so nothing ground breaking...

      Still no Jiu Jitsu.
      No Runs
I did get in 7 walks with my wife for a total of 18.4 miles.
      3 Yoga sessions
Averaged a little over 16k steps a day
doing a little (not much) more bodyweight movements...

I vacuumed my whole house! A first in a long time. It took place over 3 day, but got it done.
Gardening 3x this week too. No yoga, little stretching.

Plan to take it easy this next week- feeling a bit lazy with all the dreary rain. We'll see. Taking it one day at a time.

Mamabug, I appreciate your new strategy and Boudreaux, nice going!

Great to see that you were able to break the inertia, Mamabug!

Looks good, Boudreaux. Walking - plus time with your wife - two for the price of one!

          Very good physical activities, Seasha!

My exercises went well and was able to accomplish goals - I'm very thankful for that.

I'm working on the new stretch challenge that Boudreaux brought to my attention - the 'thread the needle' stretch.

I worked all week on loosening the extremely tight hip areas, a little bit each day. I've made some progress, but the area is going to take some consistent work and patience to get fully loosened. I enjoy a good challenge, though, and this is definitely a good one!

My goals will remain the same for next week, including my new stretch challenge.

Daily: Up on feet and light activity 5X a day @ 30 min each + Stretches throughout the day

5X a Week: Walk/Stand with rollator 5X during the week @ 30 min each time + In-chair ab crunches (20 each time) + Arm, Leg, and Lower Back Exercises

Good Health, Good Energy, and Perseverance to all.

            the power of movement

This is taken from our MS World xpress newsletter:

the neuroscience and power of movement.

exercise has immediate effects on mood and our thought process.

            a powerful motivational tool.

shift and focus your attention. increase your memory.

            move. release. rebuild.

            below are a few benefits:

enhances the hippocampus responsible for long term memory

            improves cognitive abilities

            helps you combat stress

increases neurotransmitters, serotonin, noradrenalin, dopamine & endorphins

            encourages deeper and longer sleep

            makes you happier

Looks like we all made a few adjustments this past week. Me too.

Got 6 days with an honest 30 minute stretching session each morning. And found useful core, hip flexor, leg work exercise (along with light dumbbell work) to fill 30 minutes in the afternoon, 5x this week.

The best part of the week was last Tuesday. Walked just over a mile... some distance with, most without trekking poles in empty parking lot (with trainer). Sun, over 60 degrees, a few laughs (best medicine!)... who's got it better than me?

KoKo, thanks for the "movement" info. As Boudreaux stated; motion is progress.

Mamabug, I read the resilience list in your thread... an excellent list, and resilience is needed to stay well. I have arrived at some things (read NO piano) listed... through exercise, not the other way 'round.

Endurance, the capacity to recover quickly from adverse situations or difficulties leads to resilience.

              Let's keep at it everyone!

We're practicing our French, n'est pas?

And yes I'm grateful especially for the mile walking. At gym I use the treadmill and reach a quarter mile at best while holding on to the hand bars.

So over a mile, without holding on.... bad leg (hip flexor) got more usage, which I felt on final circuit and after session.

                  Anyhow, tres bon.

Ps. high school French was eons ago... sorry!
