Hello:
At the end of may, the inside of my thighs went numb. The numbness, over the course of a few days, extended to my abdominal area and then to the back of my calves. Those areas have remained numb. Since that time, I have been having transient episodes of tingling; numbness; tingling with a cool sensations on various parts of my body. Electric shocks on my legs; electrical zapping on the bottom of my foot and on my temple. The list goes on and on.
Over the last year or so, I have began having concentration issues- especially at work.
During this time, I had 3 events were I thought that I had a uti. I now know that I am actually having urinary retention. I under went a urodynamics test this week and am waiting for those results. I was unable to urinate at all. They had to use the cath each time to remove the urine and then I fainted during part of the test.
I saw a neurologist. She is an MS specialist. She sent me for MRIs on my brain, cervical and thoracic. Cervical and thoracic were normal.
The brain MRI states that there is no demyelination observed (I know that’s good). There are however 22 lesions. 1 in the leukocortical; 11 in the periventricular; and 10 in the deep white. She also ordered a Neuroquant which I had never heard of. I don’t know how to read it at all, but the written report says that I have bilateral atrophy of the thalamus. Any idea what this would be related to?
i did a ton of blood work. All was normal except igA was high and ferritin was high.
Any thoughts?
I have my follow up with neuro on Monday.
