    Gilenya after age 60

The other day, my neuro told me at age 60 they are probably taking me off Gilenya (i'm 58yrs 5months old right now) she said the risk vs. benefits is not good in older people. anyone else my age or close to my age been told this?

I once read an article on the European Medicines Agency website which said that Gilenya is generally not prescribed to patients over 65 because there is insufficient data on safety & efficacy.

So there may be a blurred line between 60 and 65. if you feel Gilenya is helping you and you really want to stay on it, perhaps you could ask the prescribing physician if you could stay on it till age 65?

    Hope this helps
