    Does MS make you salty?

    Hi all!

So that's the question. Does MS make you salty?

A couple weeks ago I was talking with my 12 year old granddaughter and she said I seemed saltier than usual.
I was so excited and I was like "oh wow cool!" And then she says "Gramma it wasn't a compliment!"

So now I'm wondering if my ms is making me salty or worse yet bitter?

I’d say it can, depending on your attitude.

My blood sodium level has dropped since I got MS. So I must not be salty(:

I try to handle things with humor but as my issues increase my humor which has always been kind of dry seems to be turning a little dark.

Don't worry. I plan to laugh my way through life!
I'm still pretty excited about being called salty!

Good to know I'm not the only salty one.

Having marital problems my husband said the D word last night. Just another reason to be salty. I think it's gonna be hard to laugh my way through this.

While I would love to blame MS for my attitude at times... 🤣

But it's an interesting question. I wonder if people with MS have shorter fuses.

I guess it does come with the territory.

I don't think we have shorter fuses just more things to piss us off.

Your thread didn't piss me off. It did make me laugh, since I didn't know what your initial post was referring to. Glad a few others thought the same.

Actually looked up your zip code to see where your origin was from. I should look up the expression itself....

Again, thanks for the chuckle. My original reply; "I don't sweat but notice a salt buildup when I shower"

I'm glad it made you laugh. Sorry about your salty shower!

So which term were you unfamiliar with salty or passed off?

                      Hi Leenyl,

After responding to the thread yesterday, I googled the expression "salty"... The explanations seem to be different than I remember, very contemporary (examples referred to negative hip-hop lyrics).

Your granddaughter seems to use it as "cranky" or "curmudgeon like."

My memory was linked to language. A Navy man or merchant mariner, when in port, was often associated with salty language.

When I think of salty I picture a sailor or a a somewhat cranky little old lady who goes through life with zest without worrying about what other people think!

I think ms adds to my negative glee!

                        Thank you all for listening.

                          Hi Leenyi

I think your being salty is a lot more interesting and engaging than being sour.
