    Online medical summary

Hi everyone. It's been a few months since I've posted. My primary doctor thinks all my symptoms are due to my Fibromyalgia. Here's a question though. I went online to review my test results for an allergy test I had last week, and I just happened to check out my medical summary. It states under Diagnosis: MS (Multiple Sclerosis) (notable code), as well as other correct diagnosis's. Could this be an error?? I've seen 5 Neurologists who have all said not MS. The last one was an MS specialist who said the lesions did not fit MS pattern (lesions were in parietal and frontal lobes) so NOT MS. Any thoughts on who I should ask about this? My primary doctor, all other neurologists?? If I were to go to the ER and not be able to speak for some reason, they could have this wrong diagnosis and treat me for it. Scary! Has this happened to any of you? Thanks!

    Hi WiltingRose.

When tests are ordered such as a MRI a medical code needs to be put on the order so the MRI techs will follow a certain protocol for that test. This is also done for insurance purposes. This does not make it a diagnosis, just what the test is being done to look for. My guess is that's the reason it is in the medical summary. You could always ask your Dr. about it.

Thanks Snoopy, that does make sense. I will ask the doctor just to be sure. It was definitely listed with all my diagnosis's, and all the others were correct. There is only one other neurologist that would not say if it was Ms or not, and I last saw her in December. I had an abnormal exam and I kind of had a little breakdown after talking with her about some symptoms, but we didn't talk about what they could be. I will definitely find out what that is all about though. I'm just trying to live my life the best that I can with what is going on with my body. No matter what name it is or isn't doesn't even matter anymore. I just want to continue going forward and enjoy being alive. God knows, there are people way worse off than me.
