    OCREVUS and Medicare

    Hi,

I am not on ocrevus yet but will soon start it. I am not familiar with Medicare all how all the different plans work but could someone tell me if Ocrevus (or other ms meds) are covered under Medicare.

Hi cavan - I'm not certain that Medicare will pay for your medication, but you should try to get in touch with the Genetech Foundation. They give free medication for those who don't carry insurance or have financial concerns - https://www.gene.com/patients/patient-foundation. There is an application to download to see if you qualify or call (888) 941-3331 to talk with a specialist.

It would be helpful for others if you get some assistance to let us know.
    Good luck to you!

I have Medicare and Medigap insurance. For me, Ocrevus is a treatment administered in an infusion facility so it is covered under Medicare part B. Medicare pays 80% of whatever their negotiated rate is. The remaining 20% is paid by my Medigap insurance.

Like most MS meds, Ocrevus is expensive. If you do not have Medigap insurance your part will be a substantial amount. Seasha’s advice to start looking for another source of funding is wise. Unfortunately many of the manufacturers’ assistance program prohibit Medicare recipients from participating.

        Thank you Ladies.

I am in the process of Dr. submitting to my private insurance. In the next few years, I will have Medicare so I was just thinking ahead.
