      Goal Made

      Hi Gang!

I was a crazy week for me. Lots of people in town who are home for reunions and my sister-in-law is here with her mother for a month. She's been a big help to all of us. Her mother had a stroke in December and her father passed suddenly 3 weeks later. he was married to my brother that passed at 44 and she and I have always been so close. Nice having her here. She kept me hopping for sure. Such a positive person. Ok.....enough about her.

I decided for awhile not to set a goal if that's ok??? After a week like this I will expect it out of myself and it does take a couple days to regroup. You did great Faith without setting goals.

      Thurs-2021
      Fri-6516
      Sat-2565
      Sun-4535
      Mon-2567
      Tues 7928
      Weds-6089

      Total=32,716
      Average=4673

Please know you are all in my thoughts on a daily basis.

      Yours truly,

      Susie

        Made Goals

Goals are 5000 steps on at least 5 of 7 days OR average 5000 steps each day for 7 days.

Thu - 6040 (1 bag of chicken feed to bin)
Fri - 6697 (doctor appointment and some shopping)
Sat - 6499 (yard work - well push mower wouldn't start and riding mower had a flat)
Sun - 6245 (took tire off of mower)
        Mon - 5871
Tue - 9323 (lunch at church / set up and clean up)
Wed - 9256 (blood work and got granddaughter for a visit and later media room at church)

        I walked over 5 K steps on all 7 days and averaged 7133 steps / day .
I will keep same goals for next week, but am considering upping them a tad.

Mamabug - Thank you for reporting . So sorry to see that you have had an "off" week. I hope that you are feeling okay and that it is just life and/or weather dragging you down. AND I especially hope that things are better for you this week

Susie - Awesome week ! I know all too well about doing to much and having to recharge before doing again. But I will say that I will miss your positive attitude if you don't stop in and let us know how you are doing. Have a great week (recharging ).

Wishing all a productive week .

Thanks, yeah. I'm fine. Just struggling with motivation for exercise. I'm continuing to put so much focus on my dietary restrictions. It's just difficult to focus on both. And, I guess I'm dealing with what might be symptoms too. Digestive stuff -- sometimes loose stools, sometimes constipation, sometimes frequent bathroom trips. Also, some days more tired and need more naps.

We just had a primary election in KS this week too, and a lot of my emotional energy seems to go into following polls and candidates and news about that too.

Glad to hear that you all had a productive week or at least tried!

I had set my goal of only 3 days as I was wiped out by visit from son and family. It's taken me almost a week to recover, so I've taken things slowly.....

3 days of just picking up toys and stuff and things so out of place in most all the rooms! Lots of walking! and bending, lifting, etc. Garden needed TLC badly too. So, I made my goal but it's been tough with temps in the upper 80s-low 90s with no AC.

Have been putting off washing floors and vacuuming, but will add that to my goals for next week. Goal = at least 4 days. Hope it cools down!

Keep up the good work, my friends

              Made Goals

              Hi everyone

Had a good week and made goals. It was a hot, muggy one, so I kept the air going with a large fan in front of the AC to really blast the cold air around!

My walking was really good on a few days, and acceptable on the others. Overall I can't complain, all things considered.

Up on feet and active (with rollator) 4X a day(everyday) @ 30 min each + 5 walks during the week @ 30 min each + stretches.

Mamabug ~ wishing you a better week ahead!

Susie ~ enjoy your regrouping time!

Seasha ~ good wishes for you with the housework, and also for a cool down!

msgijo ~ great stepping! (Did you ever get the yard mowed?)

              Wishing everyone good energy!

Nice job hustling through the week y'all. Keep it going.

I'd like to join in, but I'm a bit confused as to how to do it. This post, for example, is just a recap of what happened from 8-8-18 and a week back? So, everything from Thursday, 8-2 to Wednesday, 8-8?

That seems correct, but did you all actually post your goals for the week before the week started, or do you just keep them to yourself and then post the goals and the results here in one place each week?

                  Thanks!

Not officially diagnosed due to non-MS-specific spots on MRIs, but the neurologists all agree it's MS.
Frustrated. January 2019: finally saw an MS specialist worth seeing. Maybe we'll get to the bottom of this.

We'd love to have you join us jjs! We check in every Thurs of each week when Mamabug starts a new thread. We set a goal for the week ahead and also report what we did to make our goals for the past week. Some forget to post their goal for the next week, but that's OK. We all try to reach our personal goals and some do not make it, but's that's Ok too.

Main thing is to keep moving any way that we can! Hope to see you next Thurs. Aug 16th when a new thread will be started.

                    Cheers~

                      Welcome to our group!

Yes. We posted our goals last week. Or, some people don't change their goals, so they might not post them weekly. But usually I do. I assume others won't necessarily remember them. However, I think I neglected to post mine the past two weeks.

Yes; everything from Thursday one week through Wednesday the next. I chose those days so we are on the same schedule as the weekly weight loss check in.

                      Here are my goals:

                      1. Average of 2,000 steps per day.
                      2. Exercise at least 4 times out of 7 days. Silver Sneakers, Wellness Center, PT, chair exercises or something else.

So, you can post your goals on this thread this week. Next week, you can report on how you did (Thursday through Wednesday, if you remember a few days ago). Or start tomorrow and post a partial week, if you like.

                        I'm in!

Ok, great. Count me in! My goals starting tomorrow are:

                        1. Stretch daily. I have a simple stretching routine that I adapted from my many years of yoga training in my former life. It takes about 5 minutes.
                        2. Walk to the edge of the woods and back (definitely less than 1/4 mile, and I use a cane or walker). I'm going to try to remember to time my walk, and maybe my son could measure the distance for me - he has some kind of tool that measures for building fences for pasture.
Exception: Going shopping replaces goal 2 for the day.
                        3. Light rebounding for 2 minutes a few times a day. Light: just a 'health bounce' to get the lymph moving. The feet do not leave the rebounding surface, and I have a stabilizing bar to hold on to.

Now, of course I have family coming in to town tomorrow evening, so we'll see how good I do even with the distractions.

Not officially diagnosed due to non-MS-specific spots on MRIs, but the neurologists all agree it's MS.

I'm so glad that you are joining us, jjs. I truly believe that the accountability that we share with each other helps to keep me on track.

However, having said that, my priority right now is working my functional medicine program.

Currently, my doc is adding getting rid if toxins in my environment. This week, I'm continuing to work on replacing plastics in my kitchen with non toxic food storage and eliminating microwave use. I'm also making changes in some cleaning products and personal products.

Motivation to exercise is currently low. This all takes effort and commitment. But he will add exercise at some point. If I don't make exercise goals for awhile, I do believe that I am pursuing a different aspect of health right now. Next week, I'll revise my exercise goals to mire accuratly reflect what I hope to accomplish.

I totally understand!!! I was thinking while typing my exercise goals that the reason I don't always get a walk in is because I choose to spend my energy on gardening or canning! Or some days it's laundry, or sweeping, or straightening out the feed room. So, on the days I don't meet my exercise goals I'm going to ask myself "why?" Was it because I was being neglectful, or was it because my energy priorities were spent elsewhere?

jjs, I don't know your level of ability or energy for the day, but for me, the days I garden I count that as exercise. I also count housework, vacuuming, etc. and grocery shopping. I'm doing canning this coming week and will also count that in. For me, at this point in my life, to move, lift, bend in any way I can counts towards my goal.

Good luck in achieving your goal!
