"My days of whining and complaining about others have come to an end.

Nothing is easier than fault finding.

All it will do is discolor my personality so that none will want to associate with me."

“Against the assault of laughter nothing can stand.”» Mark Twain

lol. You seem to have the same sort of dry sense of humor, lover of satire as my son does.

                  Thanks Jer!

I googled Santayana quotes, and I really like them.

The philosophical perspective of life and human behavior has always intrigued me.

Another quote that I have found to be true....

Philosophy genuflects at the altar of theology.

                    - unknown (to me at least)

                      Jer ~

I've been trying to figure out what this quote means.

                      What is your understanding?

                      Thanks!

Philosophy (from the Greek) means love of wisdom.

Theology is the study of God or the nature of God.

In my opinion Montaigne had a grasp on this thinking that may help.... The first law God ever gave man was a law of pure obedience; it was a naked or simple commandment about which man had nothing to know or discuss; since to obey is the principal function of a reasonable soul, recognizing a heavenly superior or benefactor.

To paraphrase Cicero; The point of studying philosophy is to learn how to die. Conversely the ability to face our mortality is the key to leading a good life. We are obligated to do so. We should all genuflect.

A rose can say "I love you",
                                orchids can enthrall,
but a weed bouquet in a chubby fist --
